We visited here with my Brother in law & his fiancee for a lunchtime carvery. To be honest I am always dubious about a carvery visualising over cooked veg etc. But I was pleasantly amazed it was all freshly cooked and presented. I don't eat Pork or beef so I opted for the nut roast. wow it was amazing non... More

Stayed at the Hampshire Hog with 3 members of my family in two of their twin rooms. The rooms are excellent, modern, clean, tidy and very comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel is run by Nikki and staffed by mainly young people. The atmosphere in the establishment is warm and friendly and the staff are excellent. I have a... More

We stayed at the Hampshire Hog as a large family group and were all very pleased with our rooms. The bathrooms were lovely and the beds were very comfy, and there was good provision of coffee, tea etc. in the rooms. We had a fantastic meal in the evening and enjoyed the cosy atmosphere - the ice-cream went down particularly... More

The room was very clean and good facilities, wifi, hair dryers etc. The shower room was brilliant, the shower was powerful and probably the best shower I've had in a hotel. We had a meal in the evening and was a bit dissapointing, just standard pub food. The breakfast was basic, I've had better but, overall was a good stay. More

Stayed overnight walking the South Downs Way. We picked this place because it's close to The Way, but were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The welcome on reception was very good. Flask of fresh milk, cafetiere for real coffee. Nothing was too much trouble. We had room 15, unexpectedly spacious, recently decorated, very clean, no chintz (this is... More

As previous reviewers have commented, ticks all boxes and standard of room was excellent and underfloor heating in the bathroom was an added bonus. Warm welcome, staff friendly and helpful, standard of food was very good, especially the duck eggs for breakfast - first class. Nice location for exploring Portsmouth, and surrounding area. Keep up the good work. More

This hotel ticks all the boxes and could teach some business’s how to do things right. A warm reception was received when I checked in I was given a small flask of cold milk for my warm drinks in my room. The reception, hallways and room were immaculate; you can tell every detail has been thought of in the room,... More

Stayed on a Sunday night at the start of a week away. The hotel itself is very smart and the reception areas are very tastefully decorated. The bar area is cosy with beams and fireplaces and is a nice place to relax and wind down. The room itself was modern and had everything you could need. The bathroom facilities were... More
