The prices quoted on the hotels website and at the hotel itself are very reasonable indeed. However, we booked through a price copmparison site and paid about half! We arrived late and although the reception area is not "staffed" we walked through to the bar area and were dealt with straight away. Our room was clean and modern, fairly small... More

Incredible value for money, fantastic hospitality and very accommodating staff. Situated conveniently close to the M1 - if passing I would use this hotel again. My only tip is don't let Sat Nav guide you using the postcode ... The road is split by the M1! More

Needed to stay over in Nottingham for work, don’t like chains so this was a little gem of a find. Rooms are clean and tidy well equipped. Choice of food was excellent well prepared and good value for money. The staff are welcoming and very efficient. For a quick stay over you can’t go far wrong with the Hogs Head. More

Poped into this place for lunch one afternoon, we were met by a middle aged woman who completely ignored us, she carried on chating on the phone as we stood by the bar waiting to be served. She didnt even acknowledge us, after about 15 mins we left. Places like this dont deserve customers. WE WONT BE BACK. More

This hotel is in a semi-rural area a few miles to the west of Nottingham and north of Derby. I selected it due to previous existing Trip advisor reviews. Hotel will appeal to motorists (and all weather cyclist enthusiasts) who needs to be in local area but are willing to forgo staying in expensive city centres (with their parking dramas)... More

The photograph of the superior room is different to the one we were allocated, it seems that there is only one of this quality. Having said that, the room we had was clean and had wifi, small but comfortable. Breakfast was good. The dog gorgeous, friendly staff . £198 for 3 nights in February is not cheap compared to other... My partner and I stayed at the Hogs Head from 24-26 February 2012. It is a little hideaway, unless you've been before or been recommended to it you would never know it was there. The room we stayed in was a superior double and very comfortable, it had a lovely view and in the morning the sun shone through both... More

A really good pub with rooms, everything you need and some nice touches in the rooms like a good shower gell. Very comfy bed, quiet and cosy. The breakfast was truely excellent. The staff here are the biggest asset and cannot do enough for you. I came up to visit family and we all went to the pub for a meal, absolutely... More

I stayed here in December 2011 whilst attending a training course nearby. The room rate was much cheaper than that of the training venue. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome and shown to my room. The room was nicely furnished, in a relatively inoffensive hotel-style type decor. The room was reasonably well equipped and I had no... More
