A great place to stay. Everyone at the lodge went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. They offer a very good variety of activities on and off the property, and will help you select the best ones for your needs. We went on the early morning boat tour (coffee/tea and fruit available before we left) with Leonard,... More

The Crooked Tree lagoon is a great birding site - on an early morning 1-hour guided walk, we saw more birds than we had on a previous two-week trip to Costa Rica. The lodge has a great setting, right on the lagoon. Our room was spacious and clean, with lots of screened windows to get good cross-breezes, and attached to... More

outrageously over priced. one of only two places in town ( using the word town very lossely), so you're a prisoner. the food was ok, with very small portions, and no choices . you eat what they cook, and pay alot for it. wine only available by the bottle, and that too was overpriced, but since there really isn't a... The greeting from staff was friendly and informative. Rudy drove us in from the airport and stopped off to show us the Jabiru stork nest. The rooms were basic, but clean and equipped with AC and ceiling fan for sleeping comfort. We met most of the guests during our 2 night stay. Everyone was friendly and interesting. The food was... This was a good lodge for my spouse who loves birding. It was nice to just tell the staff what we wanted to do and have them make all the arrangements. I really enjoyed the Lamanai Tour of the Mayan ruins. We came in an off season. Our first night, we were the only ones in the building that night--it... More

We got to Crooked Tree and were immediately impressed by the cleanliness and very friendly Receptionist (who's name escapes me(. The rooms were extremely clean and comforable and right there on the lagoon. We watched the moon rise the night after a wonderful and delicious buffet dinner. We helped ourselves and felt like we were at home. This is nice... More

Stayed here due to Bord Watching. Very disappointing, the manager Vernas could care a less about the guests. The rate was out of this world, compared to other Hotels My suggestion is rent a car visit the area and get a "real" hotel in somewhere else. We ended up moving to the Radisson and it was cheaper and 150% better... More

Amazing variety of birds right from the lodge, but saw many more on lagoon boat trip and walks around town. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Accommodations low key, but comfortable. Unless you were late due to an activity, all buffet meals were at specified convenient times for all guests, Otherwise, you were served when you arrived. Coffee or tea were... More

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Bird's Eye View Lodge. The staff there is outstanding and extremely helpful! The location is great for birding and taking other excursions. We took advantage of one of the birding packages. Our guide, Michael, was so knowledgeable - we were very impressed!! We look forward to returning some day to once again... More

Very beautiful and laid back hotel on the lake. Good meals were served though a bit expensive. Good guided bird trip on the water and saw a lot that morning. Comfortable beds, clean and enough hot water. More
