Whatever you do, check out the Crooked Tree Lodge before opting for this one. There are just the two real lodges, and BEVL was our second-choice, since CTL, with only a few rooms, was booked up. I agree with all the positive comments here. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable and clean (not fancy), meals tasty and wholesome. A wide variety of beautiful birds can be found all over the property, not just the lagoon; the morning birding by boat tour is superb. Hoping to return soon.

The lodge provided a wonderfull place to stay while exploring Northern Belize. The rooms were a bit frumpy and older looking but very clean, well apointed and comfortable.
