We have spent only one night in the hostel, but a very good one. If we come back in Ireland (I hope so), we surely will spend more time here, and travel around to Burren or the coast. A car is of course strongly recommended, as the village offers very few facilities. more

A group of7 of us stayed there in january, we had read a that there was a fully equipped kitchen and there wasn't. Only one of the top cookers worked, the oven and grill didnt work and the microwave had a hole in the door. There were no radiators in the bedrooms so it was freezing. There was no where... more

Stephanie, sorry your visit to our hostel was not a good one. There was a problem with the oven and grill and they have since been replaced. The gas hobs are all in perfect working order and we would have been happy to assist you with them. Hostel equipment such as the microwave can, unfortunately, become damaged and we replace...

We, a group of 4, stayed in this hostel in August 2006. First of all, Doolin is a tourist trap. It's a stretched out "town" that mostly consists of B&Bs, a few shops, and a few pubs/restaurants (we noticed a lot of Germans work in Doolin). There are no means to retrieve money from your bank account, no ATMs, no... more

Clearly the memories of your visit, almost three years ago, to this place has not dimmed with the passage of time. It is, indeed, regrettable that our hostel, its facilities, ourselves, the village of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher did not meet with your expectations. I wonder if any of your group of four persons took part in any...

We stayed here last week and it was absolutely excellent. The owners were very welcoming and really helpful. We were also lucky enough to meet some really nice people there which no doubt enhanced our stay. We had our own private room which was cheap and clean. There was some free food, which was helpful as it meant we didn't... more

I stayed at the hostel in January 2007, probably not the best period to go to this hostel: we read there was food for breakfast included in some other reviews but when we stayed there was nothing and the kitchen was not on the top concerning cleanliness. The room was quite nice with a private bathroom only for us and... more

This was by far one of our favorite places we stayed in Ireland. My husband and I booked a double room and paid 20 euro per person per night. For this price, we got a cute little room with a private bathroom, in a great hostel with lots of character, including a great living room and kitchen. The hosts are... more

We just stayed at the self-catering hostel and had the best experience in Ireland. The owners, Mattie and Carmen, are very hospitable and will go out of their way to give lifts to the small town, to the Cliffs of Moher, or even to surrounding Burren area for day exploring. Mattie is an amazing photographer and treated us to one... more

The Rainbow Hostel is located in the small picturesque town of Doolin Village. We stayed here in winter, so the town was really quiet. The hostel is located 8klm south of the Cliffs of Mohair, so is excellent for sightseeing in this area. The hostel is also part bed and breakfast and we stayed in the newly built section. The... more
