Stayed in this hotel on the October Bank holiday weekend. We availed of the dinner bed&breakfast deal. We dont normally stay in small hotels but I think that I am now converted to small boutique hotels. What set this apart from the normal hotel is the interaction with family members who go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay.... Impressive driveway takes you to this grand old house. As with all these house to hotel conversions the luggage is always tricky. The corridors are lengthy and include plenty of stairs! However, the bedroom was really delightful. Spacious and furnished beautifully. The dining room was brilliant, good food and the service outstanding. More

My wofe and I spent our our first night in Ireland at the Ballinalacken Castle Country House, and we really liked it. We had arrived at Dublin airport at 0845 hours and after driving about 2.5 hours we took the coast road to Doolin. Bad news was that there was a construction detour and we got a little turned around... More

We arrived for a two night break at Ballinalacken Country House amidst considerable fog and mist moving in from the sea. It was very poor weather and the foggy atmosphere with the castle in the near distance as we entered through the gates made it all the easier to imagine a trip back to mid 19th century Ireland, arriving by... Our family (my wife, daughter and I) rented a car and travelled the entire coast of Ireland, staying in hotels and bed and breakfasts along the way. What a treat when we arrived at Ballinalacken Castle Country House! As we pulled up to the house, we felt that we were finally experiencing authentic Ireland! Cecelia and Declan warmly greeted us... We recently travelled to Doolin to celebrate a special family member birthday. The Ballinalacken Castle Country House was the perfect setting. Cecilia and her family were incredibly gracious hosts. Dinner was amazing, rivalling any meal we have had in NYC. The location is wonderful, complete with a tour of the original castle on the grounds. We would highly recommend this... More

We stayed at Ballinalacken for two nights in September and it was certainly one of the highlights of our trip around Ireland. The house is a blend of an older, heritage building with a newer wing added on - but this addition is done seamlessly. There is also the original castle about 20m away which the owners are happy to... More

My partner and I recently got married and stayed at Ballinalacken Castle Country House the nights before and of our wedding. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Champagne was waiting for us in our room on arrival, and anything that we asked they were more than happy to assist us with. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the... More

Stayed for just one night in August. Firstly had difficulty in finding the location and then when we arrived at the door still were unsure as there was no signage. The recommendation plates were quite a few years old. Upon arrival in reception we did not experience a warm welcome rather a lukewarm one and also a rather musty smell. We... More
