Visited restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday. Loved the decor, ever so slightly contemporary but still keeping the old pub quaintness. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent. Nice generous portions. Desserts were gorgeous. Only slight niggles were the limited vegetarian menu and it would have been nice to be asked if we wanted coffee re-fills. Apart from that, can thoroughly... More

A really good friendly pub which offers B&B with en suite rooms. A good pub with a separate restaurant area having interesting 'stuff' hanging on the walls (huge tree saws, woodworking planes paraffin blow lamps etc) - there must be a story behind the boxing gloves! The steaks we had were cooked well and tasted really good. Our room was... More

As a Valentine treat..My other half booked us a table at The Pelican and I have to say, it was one of the nicest meals I have had in a country pub for a long time. The pub itself is very beautifull, warm, cosy and you are made to feel very welcome as soon as you walk in the door.... More

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on our way south to Suffolk from Yorkshire. We were looking for a country pub, but close enough to Norwich to visit for a few hours. The bar and restaurant area are lovely, full of old character and comfort. The decor is spot on, a combination of old and new. We... More

We haven't actually stayed here, but have visited a few times with a view to booking a wedding reception, and we wanted to see the service we would get without them knowing. We really liked the idea to be able to book a whole place to ourselves, friends and family for a long weekend, especially with having a garden. We... More

A very nice place to stay at. Food is excellent, drinks are various, whiskies abundant. Check it out. Sadly, the free internet does not work. More

I recently stayed at the Pelican just for a weekend away with my partner. We arrived early evening on the Saturday and were taken straight to our quaint room. We have stayed in a number of B&B's and can say this was by far the best. We had an enjoyable three course meal (portions were perfect size to fit in... More

Bed and Breakfast Rooms adequately appointed but nothing special. Biggest issue was that the owners failed to pre-warn us of a problem with the heating. Quite literally cold with no hot water! Hand soap in bathroom had been overlooked, no mineral water provided as suggested in the welcome information. Good breakfast available.Over priced. Little or no professional integrity exhibited by...
