We had the most wonderful stay at Ballyvolane House last week. It was our kids' first trip to Europe (5 and 7 year old boys), and we wanted to take them somewhere special that would also be welcoming for kids. We couldn't have asked for anything more at Ballyvolane house. We arrived jet-lagged and bedraggled on a Saturday night after... More

Justin and Jenny, Many thanks for making our first visit to Ballyvolane so memorable last week. We had a great time and wish we could have stayed a few more days. The food was truly superb and great that so much of it is locally sourced or grown in the wall gardens. Met really interesting people while staying and hopefully... More

Just back from two wonderful days with Justin & Jenny in Ballyvolane - wonderful and friendly welcome, great local bacon & cabbage for dinner (genuine flavours and wonderful texture, unlike so much supermarket meat), cooked breakfast both mornings, nice countryside walks in the grounds, plus they organised an afternoon's canoe trip with Denis Murray, with a packed lunch, on the... We've stayed here numerous times, firstly about 2.5/ 3 yrs ago. On our first visit we agreed if we were ever to marry Ballyvolane would be it and we had the absolute pleasure of making this a reality June 12th 2011. If I were to name all the positives of this place I could get this review bound but here's... More

We had the great pleasure of staying at Ballyvolane House from July 6-8th. I found this property on Hidden Ireland and had hoped that it would be as pleasant and beautiful as it looked on the site - it was perfectly represented. We travelled with our 2 sons, 13 and 15, and reserved 2 rooms, both of which were beautifully... More

We just spent 5 splendid nights at Ballyvolane. To my surprise the food was a highlight! We enjoyed the countryside and seaside drives from the house and returning each day to a fantastic dinner cooked with all fresh produce, from their garden including the roast pork, in the dining-room. I forgot to mention we loved soaking in the bath each... More

We have just returned from four magical days with Jenny, Justin and their kids, and it feels as if we have been staying with friends, rather than at a hotel. I guess however that's because they don’t see it as a hotel but just their home, where guests are welcome. We had stayed there for one night a few years... More

Both adults and children were warmly welcomed into this fantastic home. The children were immediately off running on the beautiful grounds and the adults relaxed by the fire preparing for a stunning meal. I would highly recommend this venue for people of any age. More

I first read about Ballyvolane House in a high-end parenting magazine years ago. It sounded incredible and I was so happy be able to stay there on our recent vacation to Ireland. This place exceeded my already high expectations! We stayed for 3 nights but could easily have stayed longer. I was traveling with 11 family members (ages 5-70) and... More
