A first trip to the West Coast of Ireland made very special by Jim and Mary. The Lodge is a home from home, with a warm welcome, comfortable accommodation and excellent food. Jim and Mary are excellent hosts, and Jim generous in his help and advice about the fishing. The area is beautiful, with great fishing, but also plenty for... More

Back for my regular Spring salmon fishing on the Erriff and it turned out to be the best in 10 years. We struck it lucky with the weather: the day we arrived the river was in big spate but it fell fast and fished well the next day, when my fishing comapanion had three fish. I followed with six fish... More

Stayed 6 nights at Aasleagh Falls Cottage the first week of June 2012. Connemara never ceases to amaze me. The beauty of this region takes ones' breath away. The cottage was wondeful. BIG, 2 bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and fantastic views of the Fjiord. Kitchen well equipped, beds were perfect. The Erriff Fishery manages the property, Jim Stafford is the perfect... More

This is the first time our party of four have visited Connemara for our annual fishing trip. We stayed at a beautiful cottage overlooking the estuary next to Aasleagh Lodge on the river Erriff. The cottage was excellent, slept four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, large kitch and lounge, open fire, all made up ready to strike the match. This cottage... More

Great fishing holiday. Very comfortable room. Delicious food,. Very warm welcome from Jim and Mary and friendly athmosphere. Amazing scenery and spectacular views. You can go alone or in a group. What a fantastic week we had at Aasleagh Lodge. With the help and friendliness of Jim & Mary and an abundance of salmon it was a week to remember. Jim (the fishery manager) and his wife Mary ( the cook supreme, her apple pies are to die for!!!) take a keen interest in all the guests making them feel at... More

Whilst I have stayed in the lodge before, this time myself and my wife stayed in one of the recently re-built self catering cottages located at the inland end of the Killary. For those seeking a beautiful location in a quiet corner of Ireland this surely has to fit the bill perfectly. What's more, for the salmon fisher, the river... More

This was my fourteenth visit to Aasleagh Lodge, which says it all! The place is wonderful. The setting is beautiful and quiet, the rooms comfortable, well-appointed and spotless, with great bathrooms and power showers. The food - prepared by fishery manager Jim Stafford's wife Mary - is outstanding, especially if, like me, you are into sea food. In a week's... More

First visited the Lodge for fishing on the Erriff river in 2002 and have returned at least once a year since then. The salmon fishing has returned to top form since the removal of the offshore drift nets and the Lodge is the perfect base from which to venture forth. Jim Stafford, the fishery manager, and his wife Mary are... More
