My wife and two friends stayed 3 nights at the Mill. It was the highlight of our stay in Donegal County. Brendan and staff made our visit comfortable and most enjoyable. The restored mill was warm, welcoming and truly unique. I can strongly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly B&B, hostel or campsite. The campsites on the meadow, next... More

Proprietor Brendan Rohan convinced me to extend my one-day stay to two before I arrived, and I was glad. If I had my trip to plan over again I might have stayed 3 nights, as the full day of exploration around the immediate area was barely enough to do it justice, and coming for one night and rushing on would... I write this response for two reasons. First, is to apologize for assuming that I need not reply to a positive review. Second, is to express my gratitude for such a complimentary review of the area, our ethos and the facilities we provide. Most of all, I am at my happiest when I can prevail upon a guest to stay... From the road I was not sure if I had made a mistake but rest assured a pleasant experience awaits. I booked a double ensuite for one night to allow me to attend a local wedding. The quirky owner is a delight! filled with a great knowledge of local history -it is worth asking for a local tour. All in... More

I write this response for two reasons. First, is to apologize for an earlier assumption that I need not reply to a positive review. Second, is to express my gratitude for such a complimentary review of Corcreggan Mill. I suppose that 'hidden Ireland' is not a valid excuse so I must accept that there may well be more I could... I stayed at the campsite for a night with a group of 9 people after a long day walking in the area. Good facilities for campers. The hostel is really splendid too. The staff were very helpful and friendly and a pleasure to meet. More

Many thanks for taking the trouble of providing a positive review. I look forward to your next visit, which I hope will be for a longer period. We are continuously working on providing more extensive walking routes and two new ones are in the pipeline at present, in addition to nine excellent routes that exist at present. More

My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic 4 nights staying at Corgreggan Mill the week before Easter. Its a beautiful location, and a place full of character. It is really clear how much love goes into the place, and the owners have created a really homely, comfortable hostel. I would fully recommend staying here, and staying here for a few... More

Hello Sam, Many thanks for taking the trouble to write a review, which is especially welcome when it is so complimentary. The one of the most heartwarming terms, for me personally, which you used to describe the facilities here is that "so much love" has gone into providing for our guests. It is surely the greatest acknowledgement of our efforts.... More

Stayed here in April 2012 on a cycling holiday and it was great. The hostel has great character and a lovely fire in the common area upstairs. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, and our room was perfect. The surroundings are beautiful and Brendan is very knowledgeable on the area and very helpful. Unfortunately we were just there... More

I stayed here as part of a surf kayaking group in September. The hostel is very well positioned for the breaks and so proved a great base. The accommodation was very flexible for our group allowing folk to camp and only pay for the facilities they needed. Others of us treated ourselves to staying in the hostel and I think... More

We camped here in August, 2 adults and 2 children. We all had a fab time. There was plenty of space for our 8 person tent. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. There was lots for the kids to see on site- including the fairies!!. Would definitely recommend for a family camping. The highlight of the stay was meeting... More

Hello Martin, Thank you for taking the trouble to write such a complimentary review. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that the children's "window of wonder" was opened onto the faery world. It is that particular attribute of this local area which attracted many famous people such as W B Yeats, George Russel, Hilaire Beloc, G... More

We stayed here because it sounded interesting and we could not find other B&B options in the area. As a hostel it was pleasant and serviceable; our double room with en-suite was a good size and tidy. We used the kitchen for breakfast (the breakfast offered seemed modest value at the price) and dinner. As a B&B it would have... More

Hello Don, Thank you for going to the trouble of writing such a complimentary review. I take on board your observation about breakfast and I have decided to provide a continental breakfast, included in the room rate, from now on. I hope you get an opportunity to return to enjoy the fruits of your observation. Best regards, Brendan. More

It was my second time at Corcreggan and the place has changed a lot in a good way. The hostel is very clean (apart from the kitchen upstairs), the owner VERY welcoming, thoughtful and interesting with lot of suggestions of things to do etc. He was also extremely helpful for a personal matter and I appreciate that a lot. Many thanks for the comprehensive, helpful and complimentary review. I even appreciate your observation about the upstairs kitchen. One of the difficulties of trying to create character in a house which is frequented by the public is that some aspects, such as antique, herringbone, woodblock flooring, is that it is difficult to make it look bright and inviting in a...
