When we arrived, our hosts were having a dinner party for friends. We were invited to join them before leaving for the evening. We will never forget the friendliness of these families who were eager to help me with our search for my family history. If I ever get the opportunity to return to Ireland, I will plan on staying... more

We arrived at the oversized bungalow which is Ashgrove House late and tired on a wet evening .We were greeted by Frank who showed us to our rooms which are not the clinical ' everything matches ' that most places are, but soft and welcoming as such is in a home. Just as we were going to settle for the... more

Frank and Sheila are 2 wonderful hosts and people. I spent a couple of nights in their B&B and I had the warmest welcome I could expect which made me feel more like family than a paying guest. They helped me planning my itinerary for my short vacation and I had a wonderful time! The B&B is clean and confy.... more

Frank and Sheila were the best hosts. They welcomed us with Irish coffee, and set around the kitchen and talked with us, made us feel really welcomed. Lovely home in the country, comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms. Sheila's brown soda bread and scones were delicious. Went to the Traditional Irish Dinner at Bunratty Castle and had a wonderful dinner and entertainment.... more

This was our 4th year staying with Frank and Sheila, and each time we've introduced them to different friends and/or family members. We are always so warmly greeted and taken care of that we feel like Frank and Sheila are members of our own circle of friends and family. This year was NO EXCEPTION!! We were able to check in... more

My sister and I stayed at Ashgrove house for 3 nights in December on our way home to Canada, and we had a wonderful time! The room was clean and charming and the beds were very comfy and cozy. We had our own washroom with a nice shower and the scenery on the property is amazing. The most enjoyable part... more

Ashgrove felt a bit like a motel with a separate entrance to the room from the back thru carpark. Room and facilities are very standard as is breakfast. Sheila the host is nice although over-imposing. We saw very little of Frank her husband, he came to help out during breakfast with socks on and massy hair, just woke up?… We... more

We stayed at the Ashgrove House in Bunratty, Ireland for two nights. What a pleasant experience. Sheila met us at the door, concerned about our trip, how tired we might be, etc. and gave us a refreshing cup of Irish coffee. It was like coming home to Mom! We relaxed right away and were shown to our pleasant and comfortable... more

Frank and Shelia are some of the nicest owners we met on the trip. When we arrived we were greeted with Irish coffees! Frank and Shelia are both knowledgable about the castle and about places to eat. Frank recommended the Creamery, which was awesome. The room was a good size with an ensuite bath. We had our own private entrance... more
