Stayed on a Sunday night, unfortunately thevrestaurantvwas closed. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room which had the most amazing view. The room was clean and everything in good order, the decor throughout the hotel is excellent and extremely tasteful, the shower had lovely hot water and we had no complaints. Breakfast again with the view was excellent... More

Sadly only stayed one night and as it was a Sunday, out of season, the restaurant was closed. Pleasantly surprised that Johnny took the initiative to ring ahead and confirm our arrival time. He gave us a warm welcome and checked that we were happy with the room and had all we required before leaving us to relax after a... More

Spent one night at The Strand Hotel in Kilkee last March. Drove three hours from Cork to get there - no Reception Desk in operation - no friendly greeting or few words from our Hostess when we arrived, just shown straight to our room. The room was fine with a beautiful view of the ocean. However, small things were wrong... More

My friend and I booked a trip to Kilkee the morning of our arrival to The Strand, and it was a perfect two-day trip! Johnny made sure the room was nice and warm for us and make the most delicious breakfast; my friend and I were excited to wake up the next morning just for that! The location is ideal... More

We return to this lovely guest house every year. We have never been disappointed with either the food or the rooms. Lovely, friendly, comfortable rooms and Johnny is the best chef around....We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kilkee.... More

The Strand Bistro and Guesthouse used to be simply the "Strand Hotel" when I first visited it in the 1960s. Back then it was a classic Irish seafront hotel. Now it's still classic but it's morphed into a bistro/restaurant, a bar, and a guesthouse that has a small number (six, I think) of rooms. The restaurant specializes in fish so... More

Having found the Strand on the internet, I was not confident until our arrival; we were warmly met by Johnny, who owns and operates a well run, family oriented guesthouse. It was clean; views beautiful; delicious breakfast, and good value, especially with Euro exchange! With Doonbeg just up the road, a perfect spot for golfing couples. More

It was stormy when we arrived, but the room was cosy, I loved the window seat looking out over the bay. The food is fantastic. The staff really helpful. More

From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed this hotel was a pleasant surprise. Every person who works at this hotel was friendly, helpful and free with their knowledge of the area. My group consisted of two adults and two hard to please teenage kids. The room was lovely, warm with loads of towels and extra pillows etc.... More
