Stayed one night on our way through to Nova Scotia. Shared a cabin with friends and two teenage sons. There was lots of room and we enjoyed the deck overlooking the water. Cabin was clean and comfortable but tired. We expected an oven but there was none, so we had to rent a bbq. The rental was a little expensive... More

My partner and I were heading to Quebec City from Nova Scotia. We had shortlisted a couple of hotels and this location as possible places to stop to break-up the 11-hour drive. We arrived in Grand Falls at 9pm. The Best Western quoted us $179 and the Quality Inn $139. Seeing that the Lakeside Lodge was advertising $89-$115 for a... More

We stayed 1 night in one of the cottages in August 2011, the "Bear Cub" cottage-had large loft up top of stairs with two double beds for the kids, and 2 separate bedrooms on main floor with double bed in each. Would be great place to stay for a few nights to check out area, had fireplace in cottage, small... More

We booked a room in the lodge on our way passing through to PEI. The corner room was charming enough with it's two windows and wood paneled bathroom. The decor was tired but acceptably clean. the beds however were rediculously old and uncomfortable. Neither myself nor my husband and kids had a good nights sleep. And isn't that the point... More

We rented a cabin, with a loft bedroom and two bedrooms downstairs. Deck faced the lake and there we sat enjoying the loons! Food was great and I wished that we had stayed there for more than just the one night!! Rates were very reasonable as well.

I booked a 7-day stay in a cottage at Lakeside Lodge and Resort several months ago. The cottage they put us in was just awful. The owner asknowledged the previous occupants had a dog. The cottage and couch smelled very strong from the dog(s). The carpets were old and had many cigarettte burns. In a closet shelf, I noticed two... More

We stayed with our kids in the main lodge. The scenery and location was great. We stayed only one night but the room was large and very cute. Went for a walk around the lake and enjoyed listening to frogs and seeing quite a few rabbits. Did not stay for dinner but were very happy to see the german cakes... More

We have been stopping here on the way to PEI for 8 years. Theresa and Karl are great hosts. The cooking is first-rate; be sure to reserve a table for dinner when you book a room. The cabins and rooms in the lodge are spacious, the loons on the lake are fascinating to watch and wonderful to hear.

We often break a journey from Ontario to the East Coast in Grand Falls. This place is quiet, on a small lake, well off the highway, and has a decent German restaurant. It is a good alternative to the motels in Grand Falls. Although the lake is small and shallow, it is OK for a swim and there is a... More
