The Boat Inn is a nice little downtown tavern inn. It was very nice and quaint, right in the main square of Oughterard. The bar and food were quite good and Rory is a great host. Very knowledgeable and helpful and we had a great Irish breakfast. The heat was broken for a bit at night but they informed us... More

Perfect place to relax after a mucky day at Derroura woods mountain biking! Cosy simple room, yummy chowder, Connemara lamb and a few pints of Guinness in a very welcoming, homey West style type of pub! Followed by a full Irish the next day! Perfect!

The welcome was ok,we had a very nice dinner in the bar, but.... the rooms were simple, without any luxery, and NO hot water! We stayed here with 16 peoples and only the first 2 showers were warm!!! The other peoples couldn't take a shower! The breakfast was the poorest breakfast we've had in Ireland! We had to wait very... More

We stayed as part of an aging but enthusiastic rugby team in Feb 2013. Well, enthusiastic for post-match activities! Couldn't praise Boat Inn and staff highly enough under every heading. We plan on making pilgrimmage to Boat Inn an annual event. Thanks to all at Boat Inn from Clonmel RFC.

Since dining at the Boat Inn in July 2012, my wife and I have stayed there frequently. The Boat is located in the centre of the busy small town of Oughterard which is close to Lough Corrib. The welcome at the inn is always warm. The rooms are comfortable and kept spotless. On the rare occasions that problems arise, Rory... More

We celebrated a 50th birthday and the food was great and the service and hospitality from the staff was first class. I would highly recommend this place. Some of our party stayed in the accommodation and rated it very highly.

I visited The Boat Inn last June with family as part of a fishing weekend to Lough Corrib. It was our first time to that side of the lake and staying in Oughterard. We arrived very late and though the kitchen was closed, the bar staff provided good sandwiches which were really appreciated. The food is really excellent throughout, and... More

We booked the nearby Connemara gateway hotel online and arrived to find it all but closed so were stuck for somewhere to stay for our weekend visit to Oughterard. This was the best thing that could have happened as we found the Boat Inn. Firstly the staff couldnt do enough for us and set us up in a comfortable and... More
