Stayed here during honeymoon. Fantastic, colourful location, gorgeous rooms and library/living room. Wonderful breakfast and a place to meet real characters. Extremely welcoming hosts and the feeling we just had arrived were we should have been all holiday long. Apparently good for fishing, too. The only regret we have, and I do not say this lightly, is that we couldn't... More

Dear Reader, I have stayed in Ballyduff House before, and just had to go back. Brede, the lady of the house, is welcoming, chatty and informative. She loves her house, and so do I. Short synopsis: Welcomed by three legged Jack Russell (Jack), who is a super quiet little fella - not a peep out of him. He just wants... More

... let us be perfectly honest here. Eventhough you Irish people always talk about how small your island is, it magically holds a lot, and I mean A LOT of things to see. Abbeys here, castles there, 100, 200 or a thousand years of progress, you've got it all. As a german tourist, you cannot not be astounded by the... More

Ballyduff House is an authentic Irish House in the middle of green meadows and Breda is as considerate a landlady as you could ever dream of and will meet your every needs. Breakfast is awesome and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated; the bathtub reminds me of that of my grand-mother's house-greater comfort though! Only a stone's throw from Kilkenny by... More

We discovered Ballyduff House upon planning our first trip to Ireland. Bred made us feel at home instantly and we feel we've become fast friends. The home and grounds were beautiful, not to mention the charm of the farm animals. The breakfasts were amazing, the room (and even the bed) was extremely comfortable, and Bred was the ultimately hostess while... More

Brede Thomas has opened her family's beautiful Irish country estate to guests. The grounds are typical Irish green with sheep and horses and the house is a grand estate with period furnishings and excellent bedrooms. She cooks a full Irish breakfast, is attentive and friendly, and very willing to share her views on anything Irish. The nearby village of Thomastown... More

Beautiful home, with a great coutry house feel. This is the sort of house that you would love to live in if you had lots of staff to look after you - and Breed is on hand to do just that. The parkland setting, the rivver below your windows - can't fault it. More

Once again Brede pulled out all the stops for a family gathering to celebrate a significant birthday. This is a lovely house, with great attention paid to period details as well as to comfort and a warm welcome. It is such a pleasure to wander through the elegant rooms and to 'take the air' in the beautifully kept garden. We... More
