The Friar's Lodge in Kinsale, Co. Cork is a great find. The rooms are gigantic, no exaggeration, and spotlessly clean. Kinsale is a jewel of a town right on the coast, so quaint! It took us a little time to locate the lodge, but once we found it we were within easy walking distance to the town center and all... more

The Friar's Lodge is not a bad place to stay. In fact it is very good, but mainly for the location. The building is modern but trying to old and homely; it doesn't really succeed. That said, the accommodation is large and well equipped. The communal areas continue the oldy worldy theme but are oddly welcoming. Breakfast is good, with... more

Stayed for 2 days. It looks a bit old and worn in the rooms, but it was clean. Good variety at breakfast. Off street parking. Nothing flash. more

This was our fifth B&B stop on a two-week tour of Ireland, and our room on the third floor was tremendous - more like a hotel room in the States than some of the triple or family rooms we had stayed in at other B&Bs in Ireland. The owner was very accommodating and helpful even though she had her hands... more

As expected, based on previous reviews, the room we got was huge (about 3 times the size of regular hotel bedrooms), spotless and all furniture and appliances were high quality. Check in was easy and efficient. Receptionist phoned to book us a table at local restaurant, Fishy Fishy. We also dined at Jim Edwards Restaurant, on her recommendation, and both... more

We are a family of five and stayed here in June of 2009. We had the large family room which had three double beds in it and was plain but very roomy. The hotel was located within walking distance of many restaurants and the harbour. The hotel came with breakfast which included a menu as well as a buffet with... more

Well located just steps from town center, quiet, excellent parking. Warm welcome and helpful staff. Rooms are large. Could be good for a family on a budget but for me, I will not go back. Decor was lacking, toilet flushing shakes the room and sounds like an organ for several minutes! Hallways were quite cluttered with discards and could use... more

There were five of us travelling. We decided to stay at this Guest House (rather than a small B&B feel) just for a change of pace. They had all five of us in one room, which I thought would be rather tight. It was great. The room was huge, and so was the bathroom! Breakfast was typical, with a couple... more
