One of my friends booked Springfield House B&B as we were attending a wedding in the area. At first, i was disappointed we were not booked into the hotel but boy was I pleasantly surprised. Springfield House is a very nice place to stay, with owner Maureen Callanan willing to go out of her way to accomodate her guests and help them discover West Cork County. Our family of six was greeted with tea, orange juice and scones and cookies. The kids were happy discover the adjacent family farm, despite a somewhat aggressive unleashed dog.... more
Myself and a small group of friends stayed with Maureen Callanan in May two years ago. This year we returned and stayed 3 nights. Maureen manages to combine excellent accommodation and good food with the wamest of welcomes. Heartily recommended. Michael Cunningham more
I booked 2 nights at Springfield House BB, Clonakilty. When we arrived at Springfield House, Maureen greeted us, showed us our large room which had a fabulous view of the Atlantic and also gave us a well earned cup of tea with homemade scones.
