I attended a function in this hotel and when we ordered a drink in the bar, the bottle was out of date, my friends also ordered a pint of Carlsberg and when it arrived at the table it was very 'cloudy' and it was returned to the waitress & no explaination was given. I suggest they check their stock &... More

The family owned and run Dorrian Imperial Hotel is in the middle of a typical small Irish Village. When we arrive at the hotel, around noon, after an overnight flight to Dublin, we parked right on the street in front of the hotel We were hungry, so they accommodated us by providing soup and sandwiches as long as we didn't... This hotel is on a hill in the middle of ballyshannon , the free parking is at the back of the hotel and plenty of room to park . We booked in at 5pm on a Saturday night and got a large room on the first floor very clean but not the normal modern furniture , the room did have... More

This hotel is amazing but won't suit everyone. If you like to step back in time (not too far) to a time when hotels were more like B&Bs and an extension of the owners residence (open fire beside the tv with assortment of locals watching a popular soap when we arrived) then this is ideal. Staff were friendly and chatty.... More

Stayed here recently on a visit to the Cavan-Sligo-Dongal region and stayed here for the night. Charming host Ben gave the hotel a very personal feel. Although the hotel was quiet it was perfect for recharing the batteries on the long trip home to the midlands. Comfortable, warm and friendly. Thank you all.

I stayed at Ballyshannon 4 nights , it was alovely experience, once i got over my initial shock as i am more use to staying in modern hotels. It has areal fire in the lounge area, so when you get back from a day of exploring, and the weather has been a bit windy , it is very welcoming. In... More

Stayed with friends in Dorrian's Imperial Hotel (to give it it's full title) for only one night on a tour of Donegal. Mary on reception is a gem - she made us feel so welcome. The hotel is very much a throw back to the good old days with it's antique furniture and lush furnishings. Our bedroom was quite large... More

This is a traditional hotel that is larger than you would expect in a small town. It has been in the family for years and has expanded at least twice. Even though it is not a modern hotel, it is very clean, with beautiful carpets, wallpaper and furnishings and is well kept. There is great parking in the back and... More

Stayed here with party of 60 for weekend. The hotel is in a traditional style eg decor, etc, old style TV and limited channels, but the rooms are large and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities available. The evening meals were superb. The hospitality great. Large car park out the back. Ballyshannon is a small quiet town and this hotel is... More
