My husband and I stayed at Barton house for 3 nights in August as my husband was taking part in a cycling event nearby. Sue was very welcoming from the start, even allowing my husband to use their garage to sort out his bike. The room was big, spotless clean and beautifully decorated with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was superb with a choice of high quality cereals, yoghurt and fruit as well as an excellent cooked breakfast. Sue felt like an old friend, she really couldn't do enough for us, even giving me a lift when I was let down by the local taxi firms. We really couldn't fault it and would be very happy to stay there again.

We stayed a couple of nights in occasion of a cricket match at Chatsworth and it felt like staying at a friend´s house. Sue, the owner, is lovely and makes you feel like home. Both the house and the room have very nice furniture and I loved the personal decoration of the house with pictures of beach scenes in the bathroom. Breakfast and coffee were very good too. We highly recommend Barton House if you are visiting the beautiful surroundings of Derbyshire. Thank you Sue and have a wonderful summer!

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Sue did a really tasty cooked breakfast both mornings and she was really helpful every morning and asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We Will be returning here again and would recommend anyone to stay here Thank you for a wonderful stay

We have just returned after a 2 night stay at Barton House, we where welcomed by Sue the owner it felt like we had known her for ages, what a lovely lady. The room was absolutely spotless very comfortable bed. The breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had. I would recommend this B&B highly, nothing was too much trouble the whole family and the whole stay was second to none x

We stayed here as it is in a central location for walking in the Dales. Our room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Good choice of food for breakfast, and Sue, the owner was friendly and helpful. It is a 10 minute walk into the town where there is a reasonable choice of places to eat, and is within a 10,15 minute drive to other nearby small towns. There are numerous places to visit and for walking nearby so it is ideally situated for going round th beautiful Derbyshire Dales.

We stayed at Barton House overnight on a working weekend. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating even getting up early on a Sunday morning to accommodate an early breakfast. The room was a really large double, that could easily have been a king size. The en suite bathroom was lovely with a selection of toiletries. Sky tv and a great wifi connection. The view from the bedroom window was across the Peak District. Breakfast was lovely with s large selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and juices. Followed by a full cooked English breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

A nice friendly B&B. Breakfast was fine though after five days we did find the choice rather limited and the selection of cereals poor. Fresh fruit was spot on. The room was clean, large and the bed outstandingly comfortable. Large bathroom, excellent shower and well filled with toiletries. Ventilation to the bedroom was not an option as the A6 road outside carried a huge amount of traffic day and night. For a light sleeper this room is a non starter. For us it did not matter as the weather was not hot. If we were to return to Matlock we would certainly want to stay with Sue but only if her rear bedroom was available.

Thanks for the feedback and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We checked the double glazing and noticed that the upper window was not closed. That is our error so sorry for that. The A6 road is convenient for Matlock to Chatsworth and Bakewell and we are well set back from the road so traffic noise should not be an issue. We will monitor and check with other guests and thanks again for the feedback.
