We called in for breakfast this morning. We ordered and sat down, a couple of minutes later Judith the owner wandered past and asked if those were our coffees on the counter.... Two questions, how would we know? and if she was heading our way why didn't she bring them with to us? She obviously knew they were ours. So,... More

Was looking forward to a decent all English breakfast when I arrived here, very dissapointed when it arrived on a small plate (looked like more of a side dish) missing many of what I would say makes up an English cooked breakfast. I'm more than happy to sacrifice quantity for quality but I definitely didn't get it here - awful... More

My wife and I took a rare weekend break and stayed at the Woodbine's cottages. We were made very welcome, our room was very comfortable, and the breakfast ("traditional English") each morning couldn't be faulted. I enquired when booking if they could accept a "card payment" but at that time they didn't have the facility but, hey - There's always... More

After reading the last few reviews, I was worried about the stay but found it very different. Judith was nothing but pleasant, welcoming and helpful. She did everything she could to make sure we had all we needed at breakfast. Rooms we clean and modern and it was a great location. The tea rooms next door were also excellent and... More

We didn't stay at the B&B, only ate at the cafe - and goodness knows, Judith didn't encourage us to look farther into her business! I have no idea why she doesn't take a holiday, a chill pill, or get into another way of earning money altogether - as she is clearly not happy in her work. It became quite... More

Having just spent two nights in the Woodbine I am eager to share my experience. From the off Judith was welcoming until I told her I didn't have cash. At which point she turned. Alas, she never quite was that same welcoming host. First night, basic cosy room, lovely view but hard pillows. At £70 i would expected a biscuit... More

After a good walk we hoped for some decent food, instead we get an over priced all English Breakfast. New it would be quality when we heard the microwave ping to cook the sauceages! Staff were flippant and bragged about the poor comments on here. More

Usually I am quite laid back and prefer to give the benefit of doubt than complain or even write a review but I think this experience calls for extreme measures. I had booked the room over the phone and I was immediately met with a curt, blunt, rude Judith the owner I thought oh great if this is the start... More

This was our third visit, Judith (the owner) was very welcoming, ideally situated for walking & mountain biking, parking at rear, secure store for our bikes, as well as a hose to wash them down. Warm & comfortable rooms, very clean & well equipt. More

I wrote a review below of a bad experience at the Woodbine. However, in the interests of fairness, I would like to report a good experience. Due to circumstances (needing some emergency food) the Woodbine was our only choice. I commented to my walking friend that 'the owner can get a bit grumpy so be careful when asking for more... More
