Friends of ours were staying at the peacock whilst we camped up the road, we booked a table of 9 inc 3 children for a birthday celebration on the Saturday evening, the owners could not have been more accomodating if they tried, 2 of the children asked for something not on the kids menu, this was not an issue at... although there was a little confusion over booking confirmation, the peacock sorted everything out for us, and I would definately book there again! the breakfast was excellent, and the room clean, cosy and well presented. The location is perfect for the Bakewell monday market, and to head out for lovely walks. More

The staff were friendly. The room it's self was clean, but right outside the outside drinking area and on the Friday night the music was quite loud, this didn't matter as we went to bed late, but if you wanted an early night this may have been a problem. The breakfast I felt was poor. Cooked well but not the... More

Claire T.......thank you for the nice review of sorts, but I feel there has been a break down in communication somewhere regarding your issue on breakfast...... Yes we offer a full English Breakfast ie. the usual........tea/coffee, orange juice, choice of cereals, followed by a fully cooked breakfast, but this is of your choice either from bacon, egg, beans, local sausage,... We stayed here for a weekend break and it was perfect. Very spacious room overlooking the beer garden which wasn't too noisy. Good breakfast and excellent food in the evenings. It's located on a gorgeous square right in the centre of town! Perfect location. More

We had a wonderful stay at the Peacock over the April ’12 Easter weekend; lovely accommodation, great pub food, friendly owners, car parking (right in the middle of town – a rarity), good beer, convivial atmosphere and a fabulous breakfast. Tip – room three is really nice: a converted outbuilding with a four poster bed, huge bedroom and nice en-suite.... More
