Stayed here for 3 nights as a base for meeting up with my family near by. Very convenient location just off the motorway, but not noisy. Lots of free parking. Only 10 minutes from Sheffield on the motorway. Two pubs nearby which serve cheap and good food. I found the staff friendly, rooms clean and breakfast meets all your needs... more

The Abbeydale is absolutely fantastic. We stayed there nearly a week and never ate dinner anywhere else. The location was good as we did a tour of some country homes. Keddleston near Derby, spend the night here, and then Hardwick Hall and Chtsworth are a short ride away. The restaurant next to the hotel is great value for money, and if you just want a hamburger, there is a Mcdonalds too. The rooms are a sensible size.... more

We had a lovely stay. Our room was compact, but well-organized. The bathroom was spacious and had a shower and tub. The property is immaculate. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a short walk to market square. The sights of the Peak District are a short drive. We would stay here again. more

I would say nothing special except for the argument on checkout about the price quoted on reservation and the price invoiced. Fortunately, I had my reservation printout on me, as they wanted to charge 18 pounds more. more
