My husband and I had dinner in the downstairs restaurant on Saturday 31st October and were very disappointed with the meal . I had the salmon which consisted of three very small finger sized portions ,cooked in a soy and garlic served with carrots and a few green beans with an insipid watercress sauce . My husband had the York... more

Just back from a trip around Northern Ireland. We stayed in The York, Portstewart. We arrived and were taken aback as soon as we entered. It was stunning. Our bedroom was lovely but when we had had dinner we were truely stunned. The food was perfect and this was the best dinner I have ever had. My girlfriend, who is... more

We stopped off at The York after a long day's travelling on the off chance that they had a room within our budget and were offered an excellent rate for a fabulous room. Even though it was a twin room it didn't matter as it was just perfect in every way. The beds were so comfortable and the room was... more

Hotel guest/public facilities include a small public bar, large dining restaurant/bar (with summer outdoor... more

We were offered an upgrade on arrival for an extra 10 pounds to a suite on the top floor, which we accepted as we were told we wouldn't be disappointed. The room was excellent, king bed with a large plasma TV, leather chairs plus many extras including a verandah overlooking the sea and golf course. Excellent breakfast and accommodation. more

We recently stayed in the York but from the outside I didn't expect what the inside was going to be like. This hotel is small with only 8 rooms or something like that but with this place, it's about quality not quantity. All recently refurbished, all modern. Our room was great, all very modern - excellent decor, big LCD tv (52... more

My husband and I were travelling the North Coast over the St Patricks' weekend, instead of travelling home we decided to stay overnight. On trying a few local hotels and B&Bs which were fully booked, we were pointed in the direction of the newly opened York Portstewart. When we arrived we were welcomed and quickly checked in by the receptionist.... more
