Lovely welcome and service but we were cold in the public areas that were not heated. Was not the cleanest hostel we have ever stayed in.

As part of a group of 20+ people, I had an excellent evening meal at the centre, served by lovely staff. Thank you all! Alastair

A BIG thankyou to the Cnocnafeola Centre on behalf of UUJ mountaineering club! This year was the largest club trip we have had to the Mournes and we couldn't have asked for more perfect accomodation! Booking the entire centre for the weekend we are always excellently catered for on our annual trip and this year was as great as ever!...

Hostel was basic, clean and met the needs for a short stay. Staff were friendly and tried their best to assist your needs...The boys from Glasgow who were there for Under 10s training / tournament in Gaelic Footbal really enjoyed the surrounds of the hotel, loved the freedom and the local hospitality on offer. It seems a good place to...

Just the best place you could be if you want to hike in the Mourne Mountains. The place is very clean and tidy, Mrs. White is a wonderful host and you get the best breakfast you could possibly get in a hostel. This is nearly a B&B, if you book a private room. The prices are reasonable and it's just...

This centre is much more than an hostel - because it's run by the local community the service is beyond anything I have ever received in an hotel. The welcome is genuinely warm & nothing is too much trouble for Mairead & her team.
It is perfectly located for walking / hiking / mountain-biking in the Mournes.
We had a...

It is a hostel rather than a hotel so is not the height of luxury but we had a big, private room which was clean, comfortable and quiet, with a good shower, and access to a fully equipped kitchen. Mairead and Manu...

The hostel, which is run on a not for profit basis by volunteers, is well worth supporting as the proceeds go into local community projects. However, the centre is also a comfortable,...

Having just come back from a trip around the world, where we stayed in hostels in South Africa, Australia, NZ, Thailand and India, as well as hostels all over Europe, I can safely say that this was the nicest hostel I have stayed in. Warm welcome, spotless rooms, and delicious food. My friends and I were climbing Slieve Donard at...

We spent 3 nights in the hostel, and 3 days in the Mournes rambling. The hostel is perfectly prepared for ramblers needs. The landlady knows the area well and always ready to give advice what to do, where to go. She gave us several times lifts to the town nearby, told us interesting local stories and gave advice which restaurant...
