The room was a standard twin as requested, a bit pokey with a shower only , no bath. We had a 'superior' double, which comprised a bed the size of a small football pitch in a poky little room not much bigger. Spent 4 days at the Merchant House and the whole experience was great. Staff very helpful, room was very nice, food was amazing. Free Wi-Fi was great so i could Skype Home to children. Would go back and stay without question. To all the staff at the Merchant House THANK YOU for making me feel so welcome.

We stayed here on Saturday 27th April 2013 in order to see Adam Ant play at the Hall for Cornwall. The hotel is literally 5 mins walk away. The car park is a bonus, we were met by very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious and adequate, and the breakfast the following morning was lovely.

If you want peace and quiet think again... It started when there was insufficient space in the carpark (Wedding and rude double bay parkers). Then moved on to additional price for breakfast even though it advertises on its board outside this is included, apparently not when you book through Laterooms.com......add the breakfast on and I had saved five pounds? eh... Lovely friendly hotel. We took our dogs and were all made very welcome. Hotel is near the end of its refurbishment but it's the friendliness of the staff that make it. Excellent value for money, great location.

My room was still waiting to be refurbished, so it was ok - it was quite cold even with the heating on full. My room had high blinds which could only be reached with a pole (which was provided) and I had difficulty with this.
