Like one of the previous reviewers, we felt that we got what we paid for at Brandberg. Since we were just passing through for one night, we opted for a 4-bed dorm room on the backpacker's side of the facility. It was very basic with two bunks (which we took apart to make 4 singles, as there was space in... More

I judge a place by what I pay and what is expected for the money and give the rating accordingly. As such, this did what was expected. A stopover motel style place, with strangely the biggest pool we encountered in Namibia, a full 25 metre pool and quite clean at the time we were there. Rooms were basic but adequately... More

I stayed two nights at the Brandberg rest camp and I'll go back if I get the chance. We had a great night on Friday playing liar's dice and trying out the snuff cannon. Then we had a tour of the dry river bed nearby and ate a braai while a herd of 30-40 desert elephants trouped past with a... More

well, affordable: yes. Luxury: Not really. Standard room is basic, but clean. Furniture was broken. But, the bed was fine. The common area was messy. Old not used stuff was lying on tables (while there is plenty of time to put it away). Staff didn't seem really motivated. Mind you, I wouldn't want them to jump around full of joy... More

The rest camp is right in the middle of the small city Uis. We were nicely welcomed and showed to our flat. It was getting really cold outside and we were told that we would get extra blankets. Nice! Soon a man came and we thought we were getting our blankets - but not. We were asked when we were... More

We stayed at the restcamp for 2 nights. We had booked the tour 360° around Brandburg mountain. The room was very basic and the entire place looks like it never had a makeover since the 60s. Basil, the owner and tourguide, and the tour are the only reasons anyone should come here. The tour was fun and interesting and Basil,... More

Brandberg doesn't seem much when you first arrive but it quickly feels like home. We had a self catering unit which was clean and spacious. There is no aircon but there are ceiling fans, be prepared to feel hot! The main guest area / building is great, very large pool, nice outdoor eating area, cool bar, and everything is really... More

A real oasis deep in the desert of Namibia. This place has nice rooms with an airconditioner that works well, and that is a priceless thing in the summertime in this area. Very clean rooms and grounds, great dinners, lunch packs and breakfasts. The manager, Basil Calitz is very entertaining. This year he brought out a "DUPPA" which was some... More

A very comfortable base. Clean, spacious rooms with air-con. Fantastic swimming pool and Basil was in the process of upgrading the deck chairs. We enjoyed an excellent day out with Basil, where we were lucky to spot a desert elephant. Food was perfectly O.K. given the price your were paying and the service might have been slow at times, but... More
