A real oasis deep in the desert of Namibia. This place has nice rooms with an airconditioner that works well, and that is a priceless thing in the summertime in this area. Very clean rooms and grounds, great dinners, lunch packs and breakfasts. The manager, Basil Calitz is very entertaining. This year he brought out a "DUPPA" which was some...

A very comfortable base. Clean, spacious rooms with air-con. Fantastic swimming pool and Basil was in the process of upgrading the deck chairs. We enjoyed an excellent day out with Basil, where we were lucky to spot a desert elephant. Food was perfectly O.K. given the price your were paying and the service might have been slow at times, but...

The pool is fantastic and we were happy with our room, right next to it! We weren't the only guests, so the four dilapidated deck chairs could not cater for all of the guests. Apart from the mediocre quality of the meals, the service was really the poorest we've experienced during our two-week trip in Namibia. The excursion, which costed...

We do apologise for any inconveniance or poor service during your stay. We are currently taking our staff through a training schedule to ensure our guests get the best service possible. I would however like to comment on the vehicle that ran out of fuel. We had a new fuel tank installed in the vehicle a couple of days...

We love this place! My partner and I spent the night here to split up a long drive, and we had a great night at the Camp. It is quirky and fun -- with a smattering of locals hanging out at the bar who delight in conversation with anyone and everyone. Basil, the manager, was one of the most memorable...

I stayed here in July 2008 so this review is a bit late. However, I wanted to note that Basil made our stay memorable. He has a colorful background and if get a chance to hear about it, it'll just add another warm layer to your Namibia experience.
My friends and I spent 3 weeks driving throughout Botswana and Namibia...

Nothing can substitute for attention to detail. Although recently renovated, the room had rusted door jam and a mouldy shower enclosure. The miner's concert hall is dirty and derelict sporting piles of table setting. There were suspicious trays of brown pellets at the kitchen door. The owner "Basil" while personable looked like a grubby prospector of the last century. On...

Must have been here at a bad time as my review doesn't seem to line up too well with other people's. Although the rooms are clean, the whole place feels as if it's slowly dying and is about to be reclaimed by the desert. The former miner's concert hall is derelict and dirty; the famous owner "Basil" was nowhere to...

I do apologize for your unfortunate experience at our rest camp. We pride our-self in creating a personal and unforgettable experience. Unfortunately I had to leave for Swakopmund to get much needed supplies. I have since implemented measures to ensure that guests experience the same hospitality at our rest camp even when I am not there. We have also completely...

The b&b is quite basic but the rooms are nice and clean (and very pink :-), there is a huge pool and very friendly staff. The owners are really not of this world, at night we had dinner with German Schlagers in the background. It is very close to all the viewpoints so that’s perfect. Food is nothing memorable and...
