We stayed for 1 night at the La Perle Monal, Pangot. We reached here quite late at night, without booking. The whole of Pangot town was practically dark with not a soul in sight. All hotels are badly marked here & you could easily miss the whole town completely.
After going back & forth across the small town, we finally went through a broken gate & could
see the building of the Monal, but couldn't find the entrance!!! (a first-time experience in my lifetime of travelling). We honked & kept our car headlights on & voila: 2 young boys appeared from inside. We realized that we were the only guests in the hotel & I was a bit skeptical about the safety or quality of the place.
I needn't have worried. The rooms were clean, big & airy with a big bathroom. The caretakers were warm & friendly & made a simple veg dinner for us at that late hour. We were feeling cold at night & they gave us a heater when we requested for one. On waking up the... More
