We have just come home from a 3 night stay at this wonderful Inn. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by name and made to feel welcome. This is a lovely country Inn with really friendly owners and staff - all very helpful and cheerful. The room was very clean and comfortable - large and spacious with tasteful... More

My husband and I were touring the Borders for a few days and stayed here last night. Room 5 was lovely and spotless with a good view. We had an excellent dinner - We both had Seabream and really enjoyed it. Good choice at breakfast which set us up for the day. The staff were very helpful and friendly especially... More

Party of four adults motored up from Newton Abbot in Devon early morning on 9 April - the journey took approximately 7/8 hours and covering 452 miles. This was a birthday celebration and a visit to The Jim Clark Room in Duns was our first venue about 6 miles from the Inn. A must for F1 enthusiasts. Following day a... More

I have eaten here on about six occasions now and have always had a good experience. From the outside, it looks old and quaint but inside it opens up significantly into a very stylish bar and restaurant, with a large beer garden outside. A nice touch is the bottle of water that is brought to the table as a matter... More

We visited the Allanton Inn for a birthday celebration. There was a private room for our party to host the birthday meal. Everyone in our group was delighted with their meals and dessert. I had a fish dish served up on top of a leek/potato mixture. It was wonderful. We also enjoyed a chocolate dessert which was wonderful. The staff... More

This is a delightful pub in a beautiful setting. Lovely interior and beer garden with beautiful views. Most importantly the food was delicious. We had a fantastic meal, delicious fresh ingredients, flavoursome and a grea choice - very hard to make decisions. A step above normal pub food, a real gem. Reasonably priced and lovely friendly waitress too. Definitely will... More

six of us old foggies went to the Allanton for a wedding anniversary dinner, a hugely warm welcome from the owners, service was spot on, relaxed and informal, the menu was interesting and varied with local produce featuring heavily, the steak was to die for, yes THAT good, others had fish dishes which was equally as good, the ales were... Living locally, we are regular visitors to The Allanton Inn, whether dining in the restaurant, meeting socially for a few drinks in the friendly bar or indulging in a terrific barbecue and a glass or two of wine on a warm summer's afternoon in their fabulous garden. We'd like to say a massive thank you to William and Katrina, for... More

This small (limited number of rooms) family run hotel in the Scottish Borders near Duns, offers a warm welcome with excellent accommodation and a first class restaurant. We have stayed many times over a number of years, when under different ownership. Always offering good food, the current proprietors are providing the best yet of local, seasonal produce incorporated into traditional... More

We booked here for a Friday night, as a stopover on our way from Yorkshire to Edinburgh. We wanted somewhere a little off the beaten track and somewhere quiet. We arrived in the late afternoon and was greeted by one of the lovely bar staff, she showed us to our room, no. 3, it was lovely, spotlessly clean and the... More
