Posada Andrea Cristina, just outside Puerto Viejo, is a little oasis in a sea of fairly ugly properties surrounding it. This was my favorite of all the places we stayed in Costa Rica. The property looks like a jungle complete with sloths and parrots, in the middle of a small town. It's close to several wildlife refuges. The rooms are simple but clean, and spending time in the hammocks outside was heavenly.
