My husband and I were in Straubing for medical reasons. The hotel owners live on the premises. Owners and staff speak and understand English well enough to give directions and even personal advice to inexperienced international travelers such as us. The hotel owner and staff take care of every possible need you might have. He found me a rental car that was much cheeper per day, cooked my family breakfast when "we" would wake up, got directions and maps for us.
