We spent Christmas this year at the Alpenhof Murnau and had a wonderful time. As the hotel is a fairly new build the public areas did feel a little corporate but the rooms were spacious and comfortable and have wonderful views. Excellent housekeeping, complimentary mini bar and lots of little Christmas gifts left in the room added to the feeling... More

Stayed here for a training course which was held at the hotel itself in December 2011. Had a lovely large room on the second floor with balcony looking out to the mountains. The room was very comfortable, with everything you'd expect from a luxury hotel, including a complimentary mini-bar. All the staff seemed to speak good English (fortunate because my... More

We were traveling through the area and decided to splurge on this place for a couple of nights (Monday and Tuesday). We were told that the restaurant was booked out due to a seminar in the hotel BOTH NIGHTS. Come on, no room for guests at the hotel restaurant? Couldn't the seminar attendees eat in a conference room or something?... More

Stayed one night in late August. Upgraded to a maisonette - lots of space but on two levels and felt a bit 'barren'. View was a bit disappointing. Hotel itself is comfortable and well-appointed, if a little large for our personal taste. Aircon in our room was a bit limp and so got very hot. That said, had a drink... More

This is a five star hotel with all the extras that suggests. Rates are rather high but the room rate includes free use of the mini-bar (though this does not contain either spirits or snacks), and the breakfast buffet is very good. The restaurant is both pretentious and expensive, and the 9 euro per day parking charge was an irritant.... More

We staid in this hotel for three nights. The day we arrived, we asked for the table that evening in the restaurant. According to the waiter, no tables were available. But they could set up something in the bar. Nice, we thought, and flexible. Arriving that evening in the restaurant: not even half the restaurant was taken. We asked to... More

We spent a very white Christmas at Alpenhof Murnau. While we sometimes felt like we were in a retirement home we really did enjoy this Bavarian resort for everything it has to offer.... and the spa / relaxation center was certainly key to that! The rooms are nice, decorated in Bavarian style, interesting, warm and homely. Fresh flowers and fruit... More
