As the other review says should have asked for a room at the back to miss the early morning traffic but they have installed air cooling in the rooms so you can have windows closed. I've stayed at this hotel several times, both for business and leisure. It's an excellent hotel situated about 10 minutes walk from Ettlingen city centre. We always stay at the Watthalden when in the area. The hotel is fairly new, very contemporary with nice rooms. You may want to stay away from the rooms that are facing the street - there's little traffic during the night, but morning and evening traffic might be a bit noisty.
