You've got to remember where this Hotel is - that is, 2 miles south of the German health-hotel 'Blackpool': Bad Wildungen. Also, the hamlet in which this hotel is situated contains a large clinic, so there are many blue-rinsers and infirm people here. Also I didn't see one black or Oriental person here. This is a shame.

Having said this - we did enjoy Hotel Schwanenteich eventually. The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant outstanding and staff are polite, (even if they don't speak English.) The pool has limited opening times and one's swimming has to take account of those guests needing therapeutic help. Patience is required.

But it is relaxing to stay here once one gets into the rhythm, and it's an excellent base for Cassel, (about 15 miles to the North.) There is a pleasant park for a stroll even if the statues etc. are kitsch. Take the limitations into account, (in advance), and you should enjoy your stay. more
