My husband and I stayed over a weekend to attend a wedding with our 7 month daughter. We immediately noticed how old the interior was, this was a place that time forgot with old old furniture, beds, peeling paint. We were given a room with no mini-bar after specifically asking for it for our daughters milk, and when we asked,... More

My husband and I went for a one night weekend get away. This hotel was very charming in an old world classical way. We were very impressed by the size of our room. We had a king size bed with a sitting area and flat screen tv. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed the Sunday buffet. All... More

The hotel is in superb position, close to all amenities of the small town.Rooms were not so clean ,the doors were very old,the overall imression is of an abandoned building. Most of the personnel don't speak English, with one exception that of the barman a really nice and kind person, polite and very helpful. Very good breakfast though the area was a bit cold... More

We found this hotel a very delightful place, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was modern and clean and well equipped. the only bad point is the noise from rooms above on the parquest flooring, especially from women in high heels!

When you arrive, you see a beautiful building. Also the reception and the big hall is amazing. But then we get our room. This is old and not what you aspect for a 5 star hotel. Some of the bathrooms are old and not so very clean. When we entered the room we saw a very dirty carpet and it... More

Let's face it the hotel was like a pretentious version of Fawlty Towers.....with no real intention to care about anything other than how to fleece it's guests. The staff, clearly experienced with disappointed clients, treated you as the enemy & would lie to your face just to escape having to deal with enquiries, "Is it possible to have a room... More

Ok I have no problem with rustic, old-fashioned etc but I do have a problem with pure rip-off!! Upon check-in we where showed to a room ( a suite ) which stank of mold. We asked to see another room but nothing was available - after some complaining we were taken to another room - much smaller but it seemed... More

It is certainly true that the furnishings of the hotel are a little past their prime, as some of the other reviewers have noted. Personally we felt that was more than made up by the fantastic service - old-fashioned in the good sense of the word. We stayed with small children and while the hotel was clearly not necesarily used... More

This hotel is one of these more affordable Grand Hotels a little past its prime. It is an active/passive smoker's dream, where smoke from the smoking foyer drifts all over the hotel. Even in the non-smoking rooms are you allowed to smoke (that is what they said at reception). The breakfast is good. The hotel is child friendly. The pool... More

While this probably was a grand hotel a hundred years ago, right now it is a tired hag on her deathbed. The first impression is quite favorable. The hotel's facade is grand and well maintained, however once you go through the front door that impression quickly fades. The lobby is filled with furniture having chipped arms and stained upholstery. Though... More
