We arrived at Villa d'Amelia around dusk and wish we had been there sooner. The views were lovely and with warmer weather would have enjoyed an aperatif outside on the grounds prior to dinner. I had the traditional 4-course tasting menu while my husband had the grand tasting. We both had wine pairings which were shockingly cheap ($15 for my... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but had an excellent meal in the restaurant. The resort is in a lovely setting and the area near the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The restaurant itself is simple but elegant. Service is friendly and professional. The food was surprisingly good. In particular, the tarajin con ragu di salsiccia was superb.

We came for my wife's 50th birthday , booked a suite which was very expensive but excellent. The staff in the hotel area were fantastic , the view , pool area all very nice. What let the hotel down dramatically was the food. As stated in many reviews the breakfast is terrible. We also were really disappointed in the restaurant... More

very nice hotel up in the mountains above Alba. Service is very good, rooms are nice (although small). Spa on the small side but OK. Pool gorgeous. Average restaurant though, does not deserve it's michelin star in our opinion. But the view on the valley is magnificent! Breakfast is terrible, not much choice and a hotel of this standard should... We stayed twice, a week apart, in the summer of 2011. This is a real smart, high quality hotel, high in the hills above Alba. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice to take some sparkling Asti outside on the terrace, with a lovely range of canapes before dinner. (Don't ask for Prosecco - think local!) If you're lucky you may... More

I've been with my partner in Villa Amelia few days ago. Relaxed atmosphere, an oasis of real peace away from the big Italian cities that we visit every now and then of institutional commitment. Valid inside the spa even if the service should be more polished. Positive opinion anyway. However we could be back next time.

Booked this excellent looking package via small luxury hotel group. The hotel offered 3 special nights of Dinner or lunch at Michelen star resturants including their own. I eventually booked just the first night at their resturant as all other times of our trip were booked solid in the evenings!! thank goodness I said later. The hotel is well situated... More
