L'Auberge Cavaliere is set back from the main road into Stes-Maries-de-la-Mer on a property with salt marshes and narrow canals. It has recently been refurbished and sports a main building where breakfast is served and the office is located. There is a wonderful bar and restaurant in a separate building with a big pool and hot tub outside them. Rooms are... More

Have been there over weekend in a season when one has to be lucky with weather. In fact we were and a mild mistral kept the sky blue and clear. Hotel is located in an easy to reach position on the left side of the main road heading to Les Saintes. I have got a room on the marais that... More

We were disappointed in our stay, not just because of the mosquitoes, this is a 5 * priced place but 3* quality , its more of a holiday camp than a hotel, food overpriced and disappointing, tarts not freshly made, room had nice verandah but you could not venture forth as mosquitos were abundant. Good if you wanted to ride... More

I wanted to surprise my wife with a long week end somewhere away from the crowd. I wanted to go where sport and rest could be combined... I booked at l'Auberge cavaliere in St Marie de la mer... Funny enough i booked first and then read the reviews... Truth is, after i read the reviews, i thought i had made... More

I am quite surprised when reading the other comments - well, I was there for business (basically, not my money then) - I was given the VIP bungalows (the ones close to the arena) and believe me or not, this was the most beautifully designed room I ever stayed in, and I am used to stay in international top-hotels when... My husband and I travelled throughout Europe from 14 Jul - 4 Aug and went all over the place. Of the 13 hotels we resided in over 23 days, this was the jewel in the crown. The surroundings were wonderful. The room was exceptional. The food was incredible and the owners were terrific. We only met the husband, but had... More

We were welcomed by helpful staff and stayed 2 nights. The setting for the hotel is wonderful and the swimming pool is excellent. The table d'hote was well prepared, cooked and presented supported by service that was attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast arrangements were good and the choice within the buffet was equally adequate. The hotel suffers from its original conceptualisation... More

We found this hotel listed in a travel book. I was dying to go horseback riding in the Camargue. I had missed it every time I had been to France, including living there for a year of University studies. Now traveling with my husband and 3-year old son, I had the time and money for the diversion. The woman, possibly... More

Auberge Cavaliere is very nice located between two etangs. Very welcoming staff, very nice and well maintaind pool area. Breakfast was okay, nothing special but anything you want as a continental european. Dinner was in a very nice and exclusive atmosphere around the pool area or in the patio, excellent kitchen, friendly, efficient and welcoming staff. Many families with children,... More

from website - looked v.good kept mentioning the rooms being traditional camargue huts - but disappointed on arrival to be given a room more like a motel in a block of 10+ with parking outside. Managed to get moved to hut - but the accomadation was certainly not 4 star - basic fitting etc. As for the resturant forget it... More
