Just stayed the one night (5th march 2004) on our way further into France. Prebooked over the internet with good response. The location, at first sight on multimap, looked terrible as it was next to a railway station, but in all honesty we did not hear anything. The rooms are a little tired and our bathroom very in need of tlc. The owner is french and his wife a fiestly Scot from near Edinburgh (who can talk for Scotland !), and English is spoken freely. In addition they have Wi-Fi.

What makes the place special is the vast array of highland malt whiskeys (dozens), and the wonderful food (Oh yes, the windows and decore are a mix of 'traditional' scottish theme and the bay city rollers). They made our stay (after a long and tiring journey) very pleasant, and although the area itself is not too our taste (being a bit flat and like the borders of Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire) if we had to transit south again on the west of Francewe would certainly come off the main highway and... more
