We stayed here as an overnight stop on our way to the French Atlantic coast and were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the room. Next door to the hotel is a lovely restaurant for dinner, well worth a visit as the food was delicious. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. A good overnight stop. more

Booked this hotel as an overnight stop driving south through France to Spain. The location was very convenient for the motorway and has ample free parking. Paid a bit extra for superior room which was on the top floor and very nice. Rooms were quiet. more

The hotel is not located in the centre of Alencon but right on the outskirts. It takes 35 mins to walk to the city centre and night life or take a taxi which will cost between 8 - 10€. The female hotel receptionist was extremely unhelpful and didn't understand when asked anything even when spoken to in French (I had... more

This is a fairly basic but comfortable hotel, ideal as a stopover if you need to break a journey in this area. Our room was comfortable, clean and moderately sized. The public area of the hotel consists of one large area divided into the reception / bar area and a screened-off breakfast area. The bar is just a continuation of... more

Easy to find and good service. A clean large family room and a good breakfast. The restaurant next door is something else. One of the best meals we've eaten in 20 years of going to France with exceptional service. Even the 22 euro menu was fantastic. Stay here just to eat at this restaurant. more

Bit of an odd one this. I booked two nights in this hotel - one night on the way down to the Dordogne and one night for the return trip a week later. The location is just off the Autoroute and is perfect for splitting up the long journey from EuroTunnel. The receptionist spoke very little English but my tourist... more

Well located if you are travelling further south and have just come off the cross Channel ferry. Helpful staff and adequately appointed. It gets a high star rating from the Mercure group which I'm not sure it quite deserved. Excellent restaurant right next door. more

A nice comfortable 2 star hotel to stay overnight when travelling through the channel ports . Just off motorway, very easy to find, helpful and attentive staff. But what a find in the restaurant next door. A complete gem of fine dining in an otherwise uninspiring street - in an out of town shopping area. Absolutely fantastic and best still... more

We spent one night at this hotel as a stop over when driving from Calais to the Dordogne. Easy to find, and a nice, clean and cheap hotel (approx £40 per room). One reason I picked the hotel was because of the restaurant next door (Le Escargot Dore - The Golden Snail), unfortunately it was shut. This is because the... more

I and my wife stayed just one night on our way to Loches. The Hotel was excellent, all you could want, very comfortable, clean etc. and the breakfast really good. Now the cherry on the cake was the restaurant next door, Le Dore Escargot, well - we only had the 20 Euro menu and it was absolutely fantastic, it is... more
