The only complaint we had was our rooms were not cleaned every day--but maybe this is just the custom here. The food was excellent and we were the only couple staying in the hotel. When we arrived the owner had a glass of wine with us for about an hour, then had his chef prepare a meal just for us.... More

This is a beautiful location, embellished with a sometimes a little bit kitschy taste. A highlight is the cuisine: the best sweetbread in a long time, for dessert a warm apricot tart of flawlessly superb quality. After taking our orders the headwaiter disappeared and left the field to a completely inexperienced, uninterested adolescent whom we had to trace well hidden... More

This was an one day trip to relax and rest. The welcome was good but not exeptional; I had to drag the information from the person that weclomed me (who otherwise was very nice and polite) My room on the ground floor was spacious and had the iron bars on the window but it did not really bothered me (I... We received and warm welcome and great hospitality during our week long stay. The proprietors and their team were unintrusive but always on hand and happy to help. Our room was large and overlooked the lovely walled garden and pool. It was simply furnished had a good double bed. TV (French. Only) and DVD player (DVD,s available) and had a... More

With two nights prebooked at EUR120 per night we did not expect the following example of bad hotelkeeping: On our second day we returned to the hotel at 16:45 to relax and enjoy a drink in the garden and pool area. However as we were going upstairs to our room we were told that because of an imminent ministerial visit... More

we had a last minute reservation and were shown to what i can only describe as a 'cell-like' room which backed onto the dining room extension. due to the bars on the window we could only open the window a crack and obviously could not open any curtain as we would have been seen by the diners seated directly in... We stayed at Le Clos in late July 2009 before going on to cruise along the Canl du Midi. The hotel was fantastic, just a few other guest staying at the same time and the food was exceptional. It's a little bit outside Beziers so you will need a car. More

Le Clos de Mausanne is about 2 km outside Beziers to the northeast on the N9 (not the A9!) to Pezenas up a track leading to a large car park. We found it in Alastair Sawday's "French Hotels & Chateaux". It describes itself as a restaurant with rooms. It is run by Bruno Saurel (French) and Irwin Scott-Davidson (Irish) &... More

We stayed at Le Clos de Maussanne, just outside Beziers on the Pezanas road, for three nights from the 3rd to the 6th of October 2008. Le Clos is the new venture by Bruno and Irwin who also own and run the equally fantastic La Chamberte in Villeneuve Les Beziers. Le Clos operates in a beautifully restored old building, set... More
