The hotelis situated right at the top of the village, away from all roads and is very quiet. The rooms are average, but the food in the restaurant is exceptonal. The chef / owner tries very hard to match the latest in restaurant food fashion. The crab 'accras' or fishcakes were small balls, served in a cup like an ice ream... More

Yes it is small and quite hotel with a lovely charm. During my stay the weather was very hot and I was lucky to have the superior room with a balcony. The hotel is nice and clean and the evening c restaurant is very good. The breakfast is O.K. except one thing- only one cruason per person (of course it... More

The hotel as such is fine for a 2 star rating, but there is no food on Mondays, the breakfast is poor with reheated croissants so dry thay crumbled in the hand, and no muesli. Dinner was very elaborate, with a ridiculous 6 cm thick winelist, and very slow service. All show on the plate but little substance. More

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights together with a group of friends. The hotel is really very nice, well kept and in a beautiful surrounding. Of course you need a car to get there, it is outside of Barr. The rooms are very nice, if you think it is just 2-star-rated. Well kept and plenty of space. The... More

After an aborted trip to Portugal due to the recent flight problems linked to volcanic ash in Iceland, we decided to make a return trip to Alsace after a gap of 10 years. It proved to be a very good choice. We picked the Hotel du Chateau d'Andlau because of it's good reviews here and particularly the previous review from... More

We stayed at the hotel for the fifth year running. The welcome from Laurence was very warm and we felt at home within seconds. Christian's cuisine is better than ever with inventive and creative cooking where presentation is second to none. The food is augmented by a wine list with over 900 pages with wines from literally all over the... More

family hotel exactly outside the centre of Barr. Neat and clean room but not really large but well-cared-for . tv, shower, hair dryer some rooms have a balcony and chairs. Cosy restaurant with excellent meals. And a fantastic winelist. The restaurant staff was very stiff and not so friendly i found. The person at the reception was ok. Breakfast: Ok... More

What a wonderful place to stay! This hotel was one of the highlights of my trip to France. The building is beautiful, and the surroundings are amazing. Our room was great and had a living room attached. The breakfast had an assortment of fresh pastries and beverages. I never eat in the on-site restaurant, but it looked very good. More
