While you cannot compare Verbania with Stresa or Baveno, so you might miss a bit of the old lake atmosphere, it is very nice and practical as a transport hub. We spent 2 nights there and were very unlucky with the weather (rain and more rain) so had to spend a fair amount of time in the hotel. When we first arrived, we didn't get the warmest of welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The location is good. Get a balcony room for a view of the lake. Our room was very clean & comfortable. The staff was very helpful. If you can find a free parking place you are inclined not to drive so you can keep the spot. The breakfasts were excellent. More
