This hotel is in serious need of customer service training for the reception staff. We had to wake early each morning due to the low level rumble of the hotel's washing machines, interupted by the 'clip clop' of other guests footsteps on the stone floors above and around. small rooms, very noisy, including work that started at 8.30, you can hear your neighbours urinating in their bathrooms, at any time you choose (!), staff do not care about their guests, over priced and impacted on the enjoyment of our holiday. The location is fantastic, but that simply isn't good enough. more

we arrived late at Sestri and we loved the exterior,that worn grandeur, plus there was the largest amount of luxury cars parked in its parking, so we thought, we can't go wrong! luxury and quality, what we were looking for! but we went wrong since: just one person in the reception, sweaty and anxious and rude. they charged us 250euros... more

We enjoyed our three night stay. There for a weekend wedding, we booked a Quality Room in the newer section of the hotel, behind the classic mansion. We have just come back from The Villa Balbi Hotel, where we stayed for 6 nights. We booked a junior suite in the old villa overlooking the beach which was so romantic with two windows that open inwards, shutters etc and a magnificent view. It was very clean and the bathroom was what you would expect from a 4star hotel.... more

I was really surprised to read some negative comments about Villa Balbi. This nice Hotel is since 2003 for my family and I our favorite place for our summer holidays. Sestri Levante is a small town which offers sandy beaches (rare along Ligurian coast) but very good and safe above all for children. Last year we went there as usual... more
