We booked the Casale Giancesare for 10 days in January and stayed in the ‘Gerani’ two-room apartment with en suite bathroom with shower, and double private patio. A perfect balance of old world charm, comfort, privacy and southern Italian country life with the Voza family. The old stone house belonged to Enzo Voza’s grandfather, with surrounding vineyards, Mediterranean gardens and... More

Tremendous service from this family owned B&B. Beautiful location worth every effort - just difficult to find if you're coming from Salerno along the sea. Don't pass up the excellent restaurant recommendations or the chance to purchase the Casale produced Aglianico red wine and olive oil! More

A beautiful old house in a romantic bucolic setting, we found that although friendly, the staff (I'm not sure if it was the owner) had very limited English. It was a little difficult to haul our luggage up the spiral staircase, the room had a skylight but no window - and no fire exit - and the cleaning was just... More

This is a wonderful place to spend some holidays, it's a beautiful house lost in the countryside, but also just near Capaccio and Paestum (with Ravello, my favourite sightseeing place in the whole Campania region!). Really nice and welcoming family taking care of the Bed&Breakfast!! While staying there, try to visit a Caseificio (where they produce Mozarella di Bufala) it's... More

Myself and two friends (all late 20's) cycled the south west coast of Italy and booked a last minute room at Casale Giancesare after seeing it in the Lonely Planet. It was a small cycle up the hill from Paestum but worth every pedal as the setting is idyllic. The view from the swimming pool is unreal and the owners... More

In the sleepy town of Paestum, you will find the lovely Casale Giancesare. A perfect overnight stop if you are driving south as we were. Not far from the amazing ruins on the edge of town. The room was large and very clean with an en suite bathroom with shower. The mattress was a bit firm and it would have... More

I booked this B&B from the description and thought it would be interesting to stay at an agriturismo. The facility is located about 10 km from the ruins at Paestum and we did not have a car so we prevailed on a woman at the entrance to the ruins to call. The owner, Enzo, works at a local bank and... We stayed here for 2 nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The staff, a father and son were so accommodating. It was a slow weekend so they gave us a ride into town and then picked us up. They have a small vineyard and we drank their great wine. Along with the wine... More

Casale Giancesare is a truly fantastic place to stay for those looking to find a very quiet spot in a gorgeous house, situated in the Southern Italian countryside overlooking the sprawling countryside out to sea. The place really is remote and you will have to rely on your own transport to get around (and won't appeal to everyone hence the... More
