Hotel Roberta helped us out when we had trouble with our "booked" accommodation and were able to provide us with a room for two nights in August. Clean rooms, good breakfast and located close to train station, buses and supermarket. Thank you for assisting us out with our problem. More

Stayed for 2 nights the previous week. Is very close to bus stop to Venice but the one night I got back just before midnight I had to walk in front of prostitutes at via Piave to go to the hotel. Strange faces in the park made me feel insecure. Breakfast was not included ( I had a single room),... More

This place is located in Mestre in a rather bad part of town. Its not horrible during the day but the park around the corner is shady and the whole place is like a third world country at night.. scary for a woman travelling by herself. I was always paranoid that someone was going to kidnap me or steal my... More

The quality of the hotel is a standard 3 stars, rooms were cosy, bathrooms have the basic and everything is clean. Staff is friendly and helped us when we needed. The location is almost perfect: Best - near the train station, and easy to get to Venice (centre); Worst - surroundings were not the best and we felt insecure while... More

Location and Amenities: Very well located. Very good for young people or old ones not bothering on taking the bus to Venice City every day back and forth. The Hotel is just about 20 metres from the bus stop, and the bus do stops directly in Piazalle Roma (Venice City entrance). Public transportation is very good on schedules and safe,... More

The hotel is 300 m near the train station. There is a supermarket near by, Ali. The hotel is very clean, and quiet. The staff was nice, except the lady who served the breakfast. More

Restaurant next door very good & congenial host - but equally god restaurants in centre. Go in by train then get a ticket for the vaparetto/train service for length of stay - saves money & time. Leave San Marco till late afternoon when the crowds have gone & watch sun set from balcony overlooking the square. More

The hotel was perfectly adequate, though rooms were fairly small. The town though was a shocker...by far the worst value meal on our Italy tour. The town has a feel of being semi-industrial poor immigrant town. Nothing wrong with that....but could have been in the UK, little to make it feel 'Italian'. More

Mestre is a good alternative to staying in Venice if you are on a budget. You can go to Venice by bus or train (the train ride takes 10 minutes and costs 1 EUR). Hotel Roberta can be easily reached from the train station (approx. 3 blocks). At night the walk from the train station to the hotel can get... More

I have just returned from a few days in Venice staying at the Roberta. The hotel was fine. I bought an ACTV 24 hour ticket for €15 at Marco Polo Airport and took the No.15 bus to Mestre railway station. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from there. I found the staff variable but all were polite. The hotel... More
