Spent five nights in the Neri, using it as a base for exploring Lipari and the other Aeolian Islands. They are all interconnected by a speedy and reliable hydrofoil service out of the (very small) port 600m away. I loved the Hotel Pensione Neri! I found it listed as a hostel, but it is a restored villa with only about 8 rooms and the best and biggest breakfast we had in 5 weeks in Italy. We stayed at Pensione Neri for one night in June as we missed our connecting hydrofoil to Panarea. The staff were very welcoming and really bent over backwards to accommodate us, including getting up really early to offer us breakfast and a packed lunch for the trip! Rooms were clean and spacious.
