We had a lovely stay in this hotel. The rooms although a little small were very clean and well maintained. The pleasant friendly staff were a absolute pleasure and made our stay all the better. Our stay at the hotel was on 2 April 2009, 3 days prior to the earthquake. Hopefully all that work in the hotel are safe... more
I stayed here in 2006 and have to say that I very much enjoyed it. Wonderfully located near the Piazza Duomo, the centre of this wonderful city, I found the place clean, well run, the food good and the staff very friendly and helpful whilst retaining their professionalism. Like previous reviewers I was impressed by how smart and clean this hotel was and I would stay here again. My room wasn't that generously proportioned, and the carpetless floors seemed to amplify other guests' activities, but all was quiet overnight and there is little or no traffic or other street noise. This charming hotel was just a short walk from the town center. The room was small but very comfortable. A helpful and pleasant staff just added to the overall enjoyment. Stayed here for a couple of nights in September 2007. I'm a frequent traveller to L'aquila, the real Italy. Up until this stay I stayed in Hotel Duomo of the main Piazza which I thought was good until I found the San Michele. 2 minutes walk to the main Piazza. Hotel San Michele is centrally located but on a quiet street. Our room (twin--two beds) was small but very clean, modern, and comfortable. The mountain view was a treat to behold each morning of the 7-night stay. This is very well located in L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Very nice hotel, lots of towels, modern room, spacious, clean, good breakfast included. Nice staff. 90 Euros per night.
