To all those grummpys out there. This hotel was a lovely old fashioned quietly run family business, with excellent staff who looked after us wonderfully for 6 nights in May this year. The rooms overlooking the old town were large with cool tiled floors and a large bathroom. Ok some bulbs needed to be replaced, we had to tell them... More

I ate here as part of a Seven Cities tour with Newmarket; for some reason we were allocated rooms at the sister hotel Astra next door, but no food was served there. We ate in a cavernous basement dining room, which functioned well on occasions, but sometimes was totally chaotic, with screaming over stressed staff; not what you expect on... More

Food quality was extremely poor. I have never eaten such cheap food. Tinned carrots, tinned peas and instant mashed potato is not what we expected from a so called 4 star hotel. We stayed here with Newmarket Holidays 7 cities tour and were very disappointed with the hotel. No shower curtain or even a rail to hang the shower head... More

We stayed here as part of the Newmarket "Serven Cities of Italy" tour. The food varied quite a lot. The "Typical Tuscan Meal" was excellent, as was another evening when we had chicken. Some other evenings were quite disappointing, about the level of a motorway service station. We noticed that other guests in the restaurant were getting better service and... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights on Haymarket Travel 'seven cities of Italy tour' RECEPTION AND LOUNGES - reception staff generally helpful and plenty of lounge space for relaxing (probably used more during the winter). ROOMS - we had a double bed room with a small balcony on the 2nd floor. (not all rooms have balconies) The bed... More

STayed here for the last 4 days of a week long trip with Newmarket (7 CITIES TOUR). Hotel looked quite nice from outside and the communal areas, but disapointing beyond this. Food was dreadful especially the Tuscan soup where you had to eat it with a knife and fork if you dared!. Restaurant was in the basement and rarely opened... More

Recently stayed in this hotel as part of 7 cities tour with Newmarket. The hotel was clean and comfy. Food was typical Italian style - not to every bodies taste but we enjoyed it - especially the typical tuscan meal - the soup was gorgeous! Our room was fine, had fridge and balcony. I thought the air conditioning did all... More

Our Cosmos tour was great, but this hotel leaves much to be desired in a holiday resort, in my opinion. Our room was dark and dreary with no balcony ('you didnt request one' was the reply to our query. Well I didn't see a check box marked 'balcony' or I would have done! The bathroom was tiny compared to that... More
