I stayed here while visiting Monash on business. This is an old "motel" not a boutique hotel. The entrance to the room was from a balcony overlooking a parking lot. They still use old fashioned keys! The room was clean and functional, but nothing special. The decor is rather old and tired looking, and noise from the busy Blackburn Road... More

Work brings me to Gateway on Monash each week. Located close to the M1 it is easy to get to from the airport. As it is a boutique hotel, their facilites can not be compared to the large city hotels. However they provide the most professional service I have ever received, everything is always on time; room service, newspapers, taxis.... More

We stayed at the Gateway on Monash so we could attend a function at Monash Uni. The motel was certainly in a perfect location for this but at $185 (on wotif), I thought it was a bit over priced for the amenities it offers. I wasn't overly impressed with the staff. We had to lug our cases across the car... More

I have been staying at this place for work, this is my 5th stay in the last 2 months. The staff here really know how to make their guests feel comfortable. They know which room I prefer, which newspaper I read and what food and drinks I like. All the staff are friendly and very professional, you don't know what... More

I was staying in the Gateway because I was teaching at a workshop at the Australian Synchrotron (just down the road). The hotel rooms are spacious and have 32" TVs with 2 channels that show very recent movies around the clock. The bathrooms are clean and they all have spas, which are very nice as well ;) There is also... More

Stayed here for three nights in the week before Christmas, so there were very few guests and my experience might have been quieter than most. However, I never once heard another room's telly or people noise, so slept like a baby on the comfortable bed. Road noise was minimal even though the hotel is on a busy road. Rooms are... More

I recently stayed at the Gateway On Monash while visiting Melbourne on business. Normally I stay in the city but decided to try the Gateway On Monash which is within walking distance of our Melbourne office. I was definitely not dissappointed with my decision. The staff are all courteous and make you feel welcome. The room was clean and well... More

I stayed for a week for business and this hotel made me feel at home. The room I stayed in was comfortable, especially the bed which made for a great night's sleep! The staff are helpful and friendly. I also ate in the restaurant a few times and never had an issue with the food as it was always delicious.... More

Arriving in Melbourne on a freezing winter's evening it was very comforting to check into a clean and comfortable hotel where the "Heat" button meant instant warm air filled the room. Like another reviewer, I was surprised to find the cosy boutique look of the reception area led onto a standard motel format line of doors behind the main building,... More
