Beautiful place; surrounded by a peaceful energy and such a lovely people. Everything was perfect and Chandra ( the owner) such as his brother and all the staff made our stay feel like home. Their restaurant (Chia lounge) had a delicious food; which is very important for French yogis ;-) A pure pleasure during every buffet; as well as magic moments every sunset in this perfect spot on the beach.

I loved my time at Devarya Wellness Retreat Center in Goa, India. The management is very helpful and commitment to making my stay special and they were super accommodating. The kitchen staff was great and the food was delicious and plentiful. I love the vibe with all of the yoga and activities they offer at the retreat center to keep you immersed in your practice and beach side at the same time! I highly recommend Devarya!

Visited Devarya wellness in Feb. The moment you enter you are surrounded by the luscious green. I indulged in the yoga sessions and it was a great way to soothe myself, emotionally, physically and spiritually. The rooms are a work of art. Comfy beds, great soul food at Chia Lounge and wonderful staff members. There's such a happy vibe to the place. And you can see it in the warmth of the people around. Not to mention it is right on the beach. Couldn't ask for more.

For sure the compound is well maintained and there is a lot of greenery and quiet corners to relax at the poolside. At night you will have to use ear plugs as the nearby techno discothec will not allow you to sleep. Even the management is not happy about that and is involved in a legal fight to stop the noise. Food is all fresh& vegetarian (buffet for residents) , lovely indian cuisine. You can sit and look out to the beach directly. Accomodations are clean and the staff is very friendly. The main guests are yoga classes on a package or teachers training. As one of few individual guests you have to cope with that. It means daily yoga classes with daily changing teachers.

Devaraya Wellness used to be little paradise - unfortunately these days are over. Only a year after my first visit I returned to Devarya with high expectations - only to get very disappointed. The place is run down and was clearly neglected from last season to now. The pool is in awful shape (cracked painting, filters filled with garbage) the rooms and bathrooms need an urgent fresh up. The beach area in front of chia lounge is always dirty (even though I suggested cleaning several times) and no proper umbrellas are provided anymore. Yoga didn’t always take place as announced, the yoga mats, bolsters and blankets are dusty and dirty and the evening activities aren’t offered every day as they are supposed to. Even the food at chia lounge isn’t that good any more. Less variety in the buffet and very oily/heavy food, sometimes not even properly heated. All in all: a disappointment. Obviously the owner prefers to invest in new projects than to keep this lovely place in good condition. Too bad.…

My stay in Goa itself was absolutely amazing, I would encourage anyone to go to Goa! My stay at Devarya however was comfortable, yet the people at the place was very sneaky. My qoute changed about 3 times, every time it increased for some reason. Booking a taxi going back to the airport, they informed the local taxi drivers in the area, so that they can increase the price by more than doubled. This was also the case for most things we needed their assistance with. We were also told 2 days after check-in that the whole premise is non-smoking, after I paid the booking without this information. I would not have booked at a resort that is completely non-smoking I believe Devarya can offer a good stay for someone who comes from India and that knows the prices one should pay, but as a foreigner I regret booking my stay with them. Joan.…

I have came to Devarya wellness for my belly dance retreat where we will be spending 6 days to dance, learn and transform. The best thing about place is it's simplicity and how they have kept it so clean and green with beautiful flowers. They have great facilities for yoga and meditation, our session were taken Agyat and I really enjoyed it. Place gives you a positive vibes and I appreciate the great hospitality, Cheers to Dhruv and his team who were always helpful and approachable. Beach is 200 m away from their restaurant, so morning and evening lot of sea time. I definitely recommend to people who love nature and try to escape from busy city live. There are areas like food where they can improve but rest of it was wonderful and I really enjoyed the time spent during my retreat.…
