My husband and I stayed here Saturday night. We just wanted a little break somewhere not too far away. We arrived a little early, but was told our room was ready. The room was clean and quite spacious, a bit old fashioned but then that is what we expected at an 18th Century coaching inn! We spent the afternoon in... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel when we were house hunting in the Sevenoaks area. You really can't beat the location; it's a 5-minute walk from the main shopping district, a quick drive to the train station and a great base for sight seeing. I chose this hotel based on the fact that it was only one of... More

Stayed a Sat night in the hotel as all the B & Bs were full (a hockey tournament was being held in Sevenoaks that weekend). The bar and restaurant area have been modernised and look good, the room my other half and I stayed in was dated and a bit tired looking with flaking paint on the bathroom ceiling. I... More

Stayed here mid-week as I was working in Sevenoaks. The hotel is on the main road through Sevenoaks and the shops are within easy walking distance. The hotel car park is behind the hotel - the entrance to which is a narrow driveway alongside the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable.

I stayed in this hotel the last weekend with my girl friend for the Seven Oaks Triathlon. The first room we stayed in smelt of old smoke and was in very bad condition. We talked to the receptionist and they were very kind in sorting out another room that smelled a lot better and was in a little better state.... More

This is not the first time we have arranged the family get together at the Royal Oak, this time we were a group of 36. We opted for an evening buffet and the food was very very good. As always, we were looked after and all we asked for was attended to. The new bar/restaurant manager was brilliant. The room... More

We have stayed here now once a year for six years and it has not improved. We stay here because we visit family nearby and it is convenient, and by the time the year has gone we have forgotten how we found so many things wrong with the hotel/service/food. This is our last visit and we will find somewhere else... More

Thankyou for your review, I note that you mentioned that there were so many things wrong with the hotel/service/food. However you then go on to say that the dinner was good, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. I do not see the issues there I am sorry. Regarding complimentary toiletries, how many do you need for a... More

The setting, location and exterior is so perfect it seems a shame that people aren't willing to give The Royal Oak a chance. We were hesitant about booking a block of rooms for our wedding after reading so many negative reviews. However, we spoke to the receptionist a few times, and she kindly offered to show us on a tour... More

I should have read the previous reviews and I would not have stayed. Staff I found ok if not enthusiastic. Could be the dated environment they work in. My room was 110 and it does need the promised refurbishment scheduled for this year. The worst experience was waking and finding I had several small bites over my body. As these... More

Thankyou for your review. I am sorry that you feel you may have been bitten whilst staying here, I have checked the mattresses for evidence of mites but cannot see any, as a precaution however I will have these treated. Bed Bugs if they are in existence are brought in on travellers luggage, it is no reflection on the cleanliness... More
